A simpler and stronger age-rating system for video games will soon be law.
This system will stop inappropriate video games being sold direct to young people which providing industry with a simpler system for having games age rated.
Currently in the UK all games are regulated under the Europe-wide PEGI scheme while some additionally have to be rated by the BBFC.

UK to start Legally Enforcing Video Game Ratings
Retailers in the UK may face prosecution if they are caught selling an adult-rated (18) video game to an underage customer. The seller of the game may also face a large fine if caught depending on the seriousness of the case.
